I WISH.

Make a wish! The motto of the Street Parade invited you to do just that: "I wish". Because a wish is a seed from which great things can grow. This event once began with the daring wish of a few young people that the city of Zurich would unbutton its top button for one day in the summer. The result was one of the largest and most peaceful demonstrations in the world, which this year, for the 30th time, is inspiring all our senses. An estimated 920,000 visitors found their way to Zurich city centre and danced peacefully and exuberantly to the beat of the 29 Love Mobiles.

For the first time in the history of the Street Parade, a Federal Councillor took part in the spectacle. President of the Swiss Confederation and Minister of Culture Alain Berset danced along on a Love Mobile after the official part with greetings and tours. The President of the Swiss Confederation was delighted and said: "This was definitely not the last time I was here".

The weather forecast was excellent, but the reality was different. Surprisingly, it started to rain before the warm-up and only dried up again two hours later. Accordingly, the crowds flocked to the Zurich lake basin a little later.

To prevent empty drinks containers from ending up on the street, a drinks deposit system was introduced on the festival site for the first time. However, the results were mixed, as all the "unofficial" drinks stands - such as the retailers, bars and restaurants - sold their drinks without a deposit jetton and therefore made little contribution to reducing the mountain of waste.
