BELIEVE IN LOVE
Following the resignation of President Herby Leodolter on health grounds in april 2000, an extraordinary general assembly of the Street Parade Association unanimously elected its long-standing member Michel Loris-Melikoff as his successor and at the same time appointed an executive committee consisting of three members. At summery temperatures of 32°C, the Street Parade on 12 August attracted a throng of 750 000 revellers.
For the first time in its history, the Street Parade with the official slogan «believe in love» was broadcast live by the swiss and german TV networks, SF-DRS 1, 3SAT and Tele 24, with two-hour features presenting the highlights of the first Zürich Street Parade of the new millennium on the german music TV network VIVA in the week following the Parade.
